Take on the 2.6 Challenge for UK-Med

Will you help UK-Med respond to medical emergencies like COVID-19?

Many fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This Sunday, 26th April, would have been the iconic London Marathon. Whilst we are hopeful many of these events will go ahead at a later date, the 2.6 Challenge has been launched to ensure charity supporters can continue to fundraise from home.

UK-Med recently carried out a health needs assessment in Moria camp, Lesvos – where 20,000 displaced people are living in inhumane conditions. Life-saving interventions are desperately needed to tackle the growing threat that COVID-19 poses to the camp’s residents. You can read more about our Greece response here. The need for our response teams has increased dramatically with the pandemic and we are urgently seeking funding to get them out the door.

Calling all Home Heroes…

Since we have had to postpone our epic Land’s End to John O’Groats Challenge due to take place in June – would you take on the 2.6 Challenge, raise vital funds for UK-Med and help save lives?

Your 2.6 Challenge could be:

  • Cycling 26 miles
  • Completing a 26k workout on a static bike
  • Running 2.6 miles
  • Dancing for 2 minutes and 6 seconds
  • Walking up and down the stairs 26 times
  • Baking 26 cupcakes

Or any other activity involving the number 2.6 or 26. See the official 2.6 Challenge website for more 2.6 inspiration.

To get involved:

  1. Choose an activity
  2. Set up a fundraising page for UK-Med
  3. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you
  4. Complete your 2.6 Challenge
  5. Share your activity photos and videos, tagging UK-Med and using the hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge.
